Kazagashira Park

Kazagashira Park:1

This tranquil park, located on Mt. Kazagashira 151.9 meters above sea level in Nagasaki City, is also famous as pilgrimage site for fans of Ryoma Sakamoto. Free parking is available at night. Night views can be enjoyed from various spots within the park, including the observatory that contains the Ryoma statue and the lawn square. From here, one can see the cityscape, as well as the Megami Ohashi Bridge and Mt. Inasa Radio Tower in the distance, while the surrounding area is adorned with clusters of lights from road lamps and residential areas that spread across the bowl-shaped terrain centered around Nagasaki Port. Among the many night view spots in Nagasaki, Kazagashira Park is lower in elevation than Mt. Inasa and Mt. Nabekanmuri, enabling visitors to enjoy a night view full of life owing to the closer proximity of the lights of the city and the houses on the hills. As Kazagashira Park is located on the east side of the city, people can watch the sun set behind the Megami Ohashi Bridge. This beautiful transition from evening to night is also very popular among visitors.
